BREAKING NEWS – Jet boats are coming!!
Jet boats are coming to Keith for the 2017 Diesel and Dirt Derby on March 25th. Jet boat racing is fast, loud and exciting, so will be a great addition to the already packed DDD program. Jet boat racing came to Australia in the mid 1970’s from its origins in New Zealand.
The boats are a short vee hulled machine powered by different classes of engines up to V8‘s producing in excess of 1400 horsepower. The courses are designed to have 25 -30 changes of direction so that the skill of the two man crew is tested against the clock. You have to be watching closely as most of the runs last between 30 seconds and a minute, but in that short time, the action is amazing.
